Alize Timmerman initially graduated as a research assistant in Biochemistry. In 1980 she graduated at the Academy of Naturopathy in Amsterdam with special emphasis on Nutrition, Astrology and Classical Homoeopathy. From ’84 until ’87 she completed the international teacher training courses of George Vithoulkas and Vassilis Ghegas in Greece and England.
Alize founded the Hahnemann Institute of the Netherlands in 1988. From the start the Institute attracted leading Homoeopaths to teach in Holland, so a long queue of colleagues was introduced to the Dutch Homoeopathic Scene. Among these were Rajan Sankaran, Jonathan Shore, Jeremy Sherr, Jane Cicchetti, Misha Norland and many others. Together with Misha, Alize started an international working group of teachers, coming together once a year for four days to discuss recent developments in Homoeopathy and Homoeopathic teaching. In Holland, the Hahnemann Institute is an established Institute, offering, in addition to the seminars, in-service courses and a Master class program including a one-year stage in the Homoeopathic Clinic in The Hague. Alize is the rare example of the combination of a great Homoeopath, a gifted teacher and an interested, attentive person.

What Samuel Hahnemann realised in the late 1790’s created a new paradigm for the entire field of medicine. What Sydney Banks realised in the early 1970’s created a new paradigm for the entire mental health field. In both cases, these discoveries enabled a radically different approach to healing that brought about spectacular results, even in cases considered ‘incurable’ within the mainstream medical community.
Homeopaths have successfully adapted their prescribing methods to address modern day challenges such as pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines and environmental toxicity. What remains as an even bigger challenge I would argue is the number one maintaining cause and obstacle to cure in the Western world - chronic mental stress. The habitual innocent misuse of the mind is now so widespread that it is largely invisible to us. And we homeopaths are just as likely to experience our own version of ’stress’ as our clients, because we all share the same misunderstanding about how the mind works.
After 15 years of regular homeopathic practice and a further 10 years specialising in mental & emotional health, the 3 Principles discovered by Sydney Banks was the missing piece of the puzzle that completely transformed my approach, and took the impact of my work to a whole new level. What I had previously experienced as the ‘difficult’ people to work with suddenly became a whole lot easier, not just in my work but in my life!
I realised that if this simple understanding was a standard part of homeopathic training, it would transform the experience of practitioners as well as enabling powerful psychological healing capabilities for their clients that would complement beautifully the action of well-prescribed remedies.
This is an understanding that unburdens and empowers you first, restoring your natural confidence so that you can practice with ease and enjoyment. Subsequently, you will find opportunities to share your understanding with clients as and when it is appropriate so that they will benefit from it too. And as you help your clients’ minds to settle down, the remedy pictures become clearer and your prescribing becomes easier and more accurate. It’s a virtuous cycle!

I am a Homeopath, Founder & Principal of ATH's Sister School The Golden Spiral International School of Homeopathy®, Family Constellations Facilitator, Founder of Blueprint Essences® and a thought leader, writer, speaker & visionary on health, medicine, food, happiness, ethical business, humanity & our beautiful planet.
I bring 30 years’ experience of designing & delivering training & courses together with my background in psychology & working with mental health & trauma. I am neurodiverse and have a combination of being a bit of a nerd, with a lot of empathy, and a gift of seeing patterns in medicine, life, relationships, and of course homeopathy!
I nearly became a pharmacist, and spent years working part-time in pharmacies, so have a fascination with the action of substances on our bodies, minds and souls. I used to be a sceptic, but I was amazed at what homeopathy did for me when I was diagnosed with a serious autoimmune disorder that I just had to study it. To me homeopathy is true medicine.
I specialise in working with trauma and mental wellness - and also in making and discovering new remedies, all of which I teach. I am also spiritual, and weave these aspects together in all I do.
I have a love of stories including Harry Potter and Star Wars, a cheeky sense of humour with a touch of Slavic passion, and am also an old school raver & still go raving!

Guy Wurman first encountered homeopathy in 1989. A painful acute leg injury was permanently cured with a couple of pills and an overnight sleep.
But it was only much later he ended up studying homeopathy in Helsinki, graduating in 2006, from which time he has been working as a homeopath. Immediately after graduating, he joined the board of the Finnish Homeopaths Association, where he participated in increasing the awareness of homeopathy in Finland through association activities until 2023. Guy's area of responsibility on the board of the association was editing the members' magazine, which he continues to do. Guy completed a three-year continuing education programme at Dynamis School in Great Britain in 2013.
Over the years, he has attended lectures and courses from several homeopaths, including among others David Mundy, Mani Norland, Luc DeSchepper, Declan Hammond, Jenny Tree, Massimo Mangialavori, Alize Timmermann, Janet Snowdon.
Guy has been a guest lecturer at ATH for years, a few times a year, on a variety of topics.
Guy prefers to relax in his free time by exercising, either doing yoga, cycling, walking, or tending his allotment in the summer.

Taina Alakulppi is a respected practitioner and educator of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), based in Helsinki, Finland. As the co-founder of the Academy of Chinese Medicine in Helsinki, she played a pivotal role in shaping TCM education in Finland up until 2024. Currently, her teaching focuses on providing advanced specialization training for professional acupuncturists.
In her clinical practice, Taina specializes in women’s health and cosmetic treatment techniques. Her expertise is grounded in extensive study and hands-on experience, including postgraduate training at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in China. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma from a joint program between Middlesex University and the Northern College of Acupuncture in the UK, and is a licensed massage therapist.
Taina has held numerous leadership roles in the TCM community, including serving as Chairwoman of Finnacu Ry, board member of Skill Ry, and Secretary of the European Traditional Chinese Medicine Association (ETCMA).
In addition to her work in TCM, she is an aspiring homeopath, currently completing her studies at the Academy of Transformational Homeopathy.

Marika Rita, is a second-generation homeopath who graduated from our school in 2012. Her first contacts with homeopathy were in 1989, when her mother Pirkko Rita began studying to become a homeopath. Since then, homeopathy as a natural healing science has been the primary and, for the most part, the only form of treatment in her own issues and those of her three children.
Marika teaches at our school. She runs an active full-time homeopathy practise in Hämeenlinna, online in Finland and globally. Declan Hammond is a homeopath, transpersonal therapist and shamanic practitioner, co-founder and former director of The Irish School of Homeopathy. His life and work has been a passionate search for the most effective healing tools for himself and his patients. This journey has taken him all over the globe studying Eastern and Western approaches to healing, tantra yoga and traditional shamanic practices. Dr Divya- Born in Pune in 1967 , she was introduced to homeopathy at the age of 7 months .In the throes of severe intractable colic the pediatrician suspected volvulus and said if so, surgery may be called for. Her mother in calm desperation opened up Dr. Bishambar Das (a family friend) book and bought the first 3 remedies that matched the symptoms of colic. The second was the bull’s eye simillimum and the colic was history.
Perhaps from there was born not only the passion for homeopathy but the unwavering quest for the ‘bull’s eye’ simillimum (the perfect constitutional homeopathic remedy for the patient).
After graduating as a Gold Medalist from CMP homoeopathic medical college, she did her MD from DKMM Homoeopathic Medical College. She did her residency at Mumbadevi hospital and at Bhatia hospital where she gained ICU experience as well.
Diagnosis is a mathematical skill on the landscape of experiential instinct. The honing of this skill both for disease diagnosis and homeopathic remedy diagnosis, she owes to her brilliant mentors , Dr Rajan Sankaran (Homeopathy), Dr Sanjeev Khanna (Internal Medicine), Dr Nitin Sampat (Neurology), Dr Dushyant Punwani (Pediatrics) and Dr.Devadiga (Homeopathy) and Dr.Paidunghat (Internal Medicine).

Dear all, I am Miia Ihalempiä
I joined the school’s team very soon after graduating, driven by my
enthusiasm for homeopathy and the joy of being part of a learning
community. I started as a tutor for new students and today I also work
as a case supervisor and one of the teachers in the two-year professional
program.
As a tutor, I value the ongoing dialogue with students. My goal is to
offer each of them the support they need on their unique learning
journey, helping them find their own way into the world of homeopathy.
As a teacher, I’m especially passionate about helping students develop
the ability to “think homeopathically” — to discover the common thread
that runs through both remedies and patient cases, weaving seemingly
unrelated symptoms into a meaningful whole. I strive to make the
learning process enjoyable, interactive, and inspiring, encouraging
students to reflect deeply and connect what they learn to their own

I’m Nina, a Helsinki based homeopath, mother of two wonderful daughters, both now young adults. I was born in Australia, and in the midst of Finland’s cold winter I often long for the warmth of the south.
I discovered and fell in love with homeopathy only after turning 30, and in my early 40s I decided to study it as a profession. I found the second great love of my life just before turning 50, so I am living proof that it’s never too late—no matter what the dream may be.
I am also a Reiki practitioner, holistic therapist, reflexologist, and massage therapist, and I’m grateful for all the understanding these have brought me in the field of holistic well-being.
I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to practice homeopathy as my profession—it is such a remarkable healing modality. My name is Liis. I’m a newly qualified homeopath with a diploma in classical homeopathy and additional training in Homeopathic Detox Therapy (HDT) with Ton Jansen.
I have a deep interest in herbalism and everything to do with plants and natural remedies. I love gardening, growing my own vegetables, and working with herbs in everyday life. Nature is a constant source of inspiration for me, both in health and in life.
